During the Primary all candidates (of all parties) will be on the ballot. In the primary, the best thing to do is to vote for your favorite candidate. VOTE FOR ONLY ONE CANDIDATE.
The top four candidates, no matter which party they are from, will move on to the general election.
During the General election, the top four candidates that made it through the primary will be on the ballot. This is when ranking occurs.
The position of the Republican party is to “Rank Red,” which implies not to rank non-republican candidates. I would recommend to rank your favorite candidate #1. After you vote for your favorite candidate, it’s up to you how many more you’d like to rank. If you like one more than the other (or dislike one less than another) I recommend ranking as such.
According to Article VI of the Alaska State Constitution, every 10 years following the US Census a Redistricting Board of 5 members is appointed to “redraw” the state legislative districts. This follows the US Census so that the new districts can evenly distribute the state’s new population numbers. This “redrawing” of districts includes all 40 house districts and their respective groupings into Senate Districts.
The 2022 election cycle was the first year we used these new district maps. I have served as the Senator for District F (made up of House Districts 11 and 12) since 2022 and am running to represent you for the next four years!
If you live in these areas you’ll probably hear from me or see my signs up! Give me a call to support the campaign and vote for me when you see my name on your ballot!
